Harp Trap Applications / Canoe Creek Mine
2003 John Chenger

This is one of three entrances into the Canoe Creek Mine, one of Pennsylvania's more famous bat hibernaculms. The site was trapped during the annual Bat Conservation International weeklong workshop. A 6' Forest Strainer harp trap almost fills the entrance, avoiding the need for plastic barriers. Usually a thousand bats a night are captured here.
