| Dave returned to Bill's Creek to pick up the second night at that site...the ticks were still pesky but luckily one lactating red bat was caught. Just a casual observation here, but it would seem that Red bats are rather well distributed here in the middle Kanawha.
A new site was started at the St. Albans I-64 interchange area, where a nice looking wetland along some woods should have produced some bats. Scary Creek wasn't so scary with only one female red bat fluttering into a net. Left: Scary Creek red bat. |
