Night #6 for trapping. Another load of bats with over 200 captures. Nearly every hibernating species was representated, little brown, big brown, pipistrelles, small footeds, Northern longeareds, and yes, even a sole Indiana.

Unfortunately for us it was a male, and since we are focusing only on females, this one was tossed back.

Now that we are trapping later into the night, it is apparent that females seem to emerge at dusk, while many more males are captured towards midnight. A number of bats seemed to re-enter the mine again tonight, rather than stay out despite the balmy 65° overcast night.

Tonight is another night....
