Bat Flight
Each summer evening at dusk like clockwork, bats depart their roosts in order to annihilate the local insect population. When a large colony decides on an exit time, a steady stream of bat launches can be witnessed lasting 20 minutes or longer. At dusk these bats do not linger but rather quickly disappear out of sight, much differently than the impressive dawn return swarm.
Bat houses have come a long way, with BCM's model now enjoying over 95% success rate. Six of these type of houses were placed on a high school in central Pennsylvania as part of an eviction project. The bat boxes enjoyed instant success and now house the entire summer 1,000 bat colony.
